Dead Voices @ The Cobalt

I would like to share with you a poster I recently designed and illustrated for a live music event at The Cobalt in Vancouver. The show featured live performances by Dead Voices (it was their farewell show), La Chinga and Lying Eyes.

I took a cue from Dead Voices music videos and live performances in which members of the band have animal tails (real or faux, I do not know) hanging from the bottoms of their guitars, and decided to use this as a motif for the design. All illustrative elements except for the textured rose background were first drawn by hand using pencil and paper, then scanned into the computer and digitized using Illustrator and Photoshop. The typography is mostly custom as well.

If you like this artwork and would like to have a custom design for your next gig, please feel free to email me at michaellaydenstevenson@gmail.com or hello@michaellaydenstevenson.com.
